Call Tracking Blacklists To Block Incoming Spam Calls | Real Time Lead Gen Previous video referenced on how/why to track/record calls https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=xV-AGFpBO1c&t=97s We're going to talk about our phone number blacklist to block incoming calls from robocalls/spammers/telemarketers/etc and how and why to use one... I'm also giving this away for free with no strings attached for your own benefit I've been tracking, recording, and filtering calls for many years now...and over that time I've accumulated a growing blacklist of nearly 2 thousand phone numbers that are from various robocallers/spammers. Think of those horrible robocalls we're all getting hammered with. The vast majority are the "Google My Business listing" spam. This especially pisses me off as it creates more of a negative connotation to the internet marketing industry as a whole and adds to the barrier of entry to land new clients for me as an ethical, competent marketer. But there's plenty of other telemarketing based numbers from live call centers or other robocall messages about your car or health insurance, warranty expirations, business loans, or whatever other crap offer they are trying to scam you with. That's the bulk majority of that list, but the one caveat that I will mention here is that there are a handful of numbers in there from companies like Yelp, Thumbtack, Bark, Angies, HA/SD, etc. So if you actively use any of those services for advertising and leads, keep in mind that at least some of your customer service rep numbers might be on that list and not be able to dial through to you if you integrate it into your call tracking service. I'd suggest getting a direct line from whoever your contact point is and doing a search to make sure it's not in there...or giving them your personal cell to call you on instead of your business line. I wouldn't want them to have my cell either for similar reasons but that's just me... They are constantly registering and using new outbound numbers anyways (because they know they are constantly getting blocked on their old numbers) so I doubt that would ever happen (they don't give up) but I felt it prudent to mention. To me, that group is not just the competition but just straight up spam (my subjective opinion, don't sue me)...with Yelp being especially aggressive and incessant, that I don't want hammering my or my client numbers trying to pitch their inferior (again my subjective opinion) leads or advertising services. One other caveat...if you're unfamiliar with how alot of the robocaller type spammers work and how they show up on your caller ID as a local number...it's called "spoofing". They know if they show up as a number that has an area code local to you, it's far more likely that you're going to pick up, thinking it's an actual real, local person that wants to hire you for a job. The benefits of utilizing global blacklists like this, for these reasons, faaaaaaaar outweigh any potential negatives...
